Ponyo

Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea

I saw this ages ago but have been meaning to get around to writing about it. First things first - I loved Studio Ghibli, and have been waiting 2 long years for this movie to reach the uk. I know what you thinking why didn't you watch it online or buy a dodgey version on ebay. I just couldn't i have to show Hayao Miyazaki my appreciation by paying a good £12 to watch this movie.Anyway the animation and storyline was amazing and has now been added to one of my favourite ghibli movies - up there with Howl, spirited away, kiki and whisper of the heart. Ok so now my quest was to find out what next installment studio ghibli had to offer and here it is: The Borrower Arrietty.

Its pretty much ghibli's take on 'The Borrowers' - but im sure it will be good!

Enchanted Palace

Kensington Palace - The Enchanted Palace...

This weekend I needed to get a bit more culture into my life as I haven't been to an exhibition in ages and I really wanted to see this one. I think what pulled me in was this amazing artwork and the fantasy and mystery behind it.

You weren't aloud to take pic's which is a shame cos the installations are so weird, but anyway the exhibition is like a quest to name the seven princesses that lived in the palace.
Your given this invitation that has clues and a fold out map - to use when you visit each of the rooms and the princesses name is hidden in the room somewhere.

This the first exhibition i've visited that encouraged user interaction, I found some of the rooms slightly scary - 'The Room of Royal Secrets' - Peter a Feral Child was kept as a pet?? and 'The Room of Lost Children' - Under the table was a child's voice - very creepy.

I really liked the exhibition, but it lacked a bit of information - I supposed it added to the 'I don't understand enchanted/mystery' idea.
